Sped-tacular Sunday!



It’s Sped-tacular Sunday! For the past month or so we’ve been participating in The Bender Bunch’s Sped-tacular Sunday posts. Each Sunday you can grab tons of freebies to use in the special ed and, most likely, the gen ed classrooms. Her linky party is easy to use. All you do is browse through the freebies, click on the ones you’d like to try, and download! All of the products are directly linked to the Teachers Pay Teachers product site. 


We’ve been highlighting some of the freebies in our store, including The 2016 Presidential Election Samplerfrom our Election unit, our Spelling Freebie from our new spelling series for grades 2 and 3, and the Antarctica Graphic Organizer from our Continents unit.

Five for Friday!!

After last week’s Friday Favorites link-up we decided we needed to participate in another one this week! Today we’re linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday link up! Today we’ve organized our five random facts…mainly because organization makes our hearts happy but we also thought the info would be useful to you all! First up is an organizational tip. It’s no joke that we just love organization. We love color coding, we love our planners, and we love when everything has a place. This obsession has transferred over into our professional lives and we’ve learned that our students thrive in organization. Student Organization = Student Success!!

ORGANIZATION . We all know the word and strive to achieve it, but sometimes still are left flustered with ideas and things piled up in every which way. As a busy teacher, you know what I’m talking about! I find that the more organized I am in the classroom, the more organized my students become…not just with their physical materials, like desktop bins and folders, but also with their ideas, how they learn, and how they demonstrate their knowledge.  Kelly and I share this passion of striving to be highly organized, and after working so closely together for the past 3 years, we finally found a system that keeps us as teachers as well as our students more organized in everything that takes place in our classrooms. We created hands on, interactive pocketbook portfolios that are (you guessed it!) highly organized. After teaching units this way for so long, our students have picked up these positive habits and absolutely thrive on this style of presenting materials and information....
